Our Story
From Humble Beginnings of PKF
The roots of CaRenal Hospital trace back to the founding of Pondicherry Kidney Foundation, a registered public charitable trust established in 2003, by the renowned nephrologist Dr. K. Narayanan. PKF was born out of a deep-seated commitment to aid kidney-failure patients — offering financial assistance, subsidized dialysis and raising awareness about kidney disease in underserved communities.

Why CaRenal?
As patient numbers are growing, and awareness increased, especially after COVID-19, the need for a scalable, structured, and sustainable healthcare ecosystem became clear. Many districts lacked accessible dialysis units, early diagnostic services, and affordable long-term treatment options.
CaRenal Hospital was created to expand PKF’s humanitarian impact into a nationwide system of care, combining medical infrastructure, clinical expertise, and community outreach.

Today, driven by growing demand and inspired by PKF’s impact, we are launching CaRenal Hospital — a multi-specialty hospitals’ network dedicated to renal care. Our ambition is to replicate PKF’s compassionate model, and expand it: to reach patients across India with standardized, high-quality care.

What began as a heartfelt response to the suffering of patients and families in need has grown into a mission anchored in compassion, clinical excellence, and community impact.

Inspired by that experience, and the collaborative ethos of institutions like Pondicherry Medical Mission Hospital and Kidney Centre Hospital, we envisioned a broader model of kidney-centric care — one that combines world-class medical standards with dignity, affordability, and access for all.
